One notable aspect of Luduan is its ability to support customized study sets, allowing users to create and categorize new vocabulary. These sets can be organized into folders and are synchronized across devices via iCloud, ensuring seamless access. The app also offers an intuitive import feature that enables users to generate flashcards by pasting in word lists, with automatic dictionary lookups providing accurate definitions. Tagging and starring options further assist in organizing and prioritizing vocabulary review sessions.

In terms of engaging practice, Luduan includes customizable flashcard games designed to reinforce both recognition and handwriting skills. Users can monitor their learning progress through analytics that highlight frequently-missed words and review history, aiding targeted improvement. Daily practice streaks are encouraged to promote consistent study habits.

The app's word database encompasses over 120,000 Chinese words with detailed information such as pronunciation variants, definitions, and measure words, primarily sourced from the CEDICT English-Chinese dictionary. Filtering by HSK levels is available for targeted vocabulary learning. Additionally, the Hanzi Catalog provides insights into over 9,000 characters, featuring animated stroke order diagrams and information on radicals and components.

Supplementary features include a Pinyin Guide that clarifies pronunciation and tonal distinctions, coupled with a customizable Pinyin practice game aimed at refining listening comprehension. Various reference tools are accessible within the app to enhance understanding of Chinese language features.
